Kayaking River Wye

The Wye Valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB), full of history, beauty and heritage. It straddles the border between England and Wales and is one of the most dramatic and scenic landscape areas in southern Britain.

What better way to see the Wye Valley than a nice relaxing kayaking trip down the river! Our most popular routes include:

Hay-On-Wye to Whitney-On-Wye (Half Day)
We provide kayak hire from Hay-on-Wye to Whitney-on-Wye which is a popular short section of the river, taking around two hours (5.5 miles). It incorporates beautiful scenery and wildlife and makes an excellent morning or afternoon out. – Includes return transport.

Ross on Wye to Kerne Bridge (Half Day)
Our Ross on Wye to Kerne Bridge kayak trip is perfect for any group just wanting a half day paddle (roughly 2.5 hours). The route is a very easy one, therefore suitable for all levels of paddler. Once you arrive at Kerne Bridge, you’ll be able to land at the public site and walk a few meters to the Inn on the Wye.

Cardiff Bay and the River Taff
We also offer Kayaking hire and trips along the River Taff and Cardiff Bay- contact us for details.

Sit on Top Kayaks- our Perception Scooter Sit on Top (SOT) kayaks are ideal for beginners, with a wide stable base & streamline design.  Far lighter than traditional Canadian Canoes in the event of capsize there is no cockpit to hold you under the water. Minimum age for a single SOT kayak is 14yrs – We also have a limited number of double SOT Kayaks suitable for 1 adult and 1 child (10 yrs+) or 2 adults.

Self Guided / Guided
If you haven’t got any paddling experience or if you have young children in your group, you may prefer a river guide with you-please ask for details, most groups however just hire boats and go.
