We have access to the best, natural White Water Rafting runs in Wales our recommended course is the River Teifi (Wales) venue for the British White Water Rafting Championships in December 2008.
River Teifi
The River Teifi is the longest river in Wales, It has an amazing array of wild life and the trip is about 2½ hours long (10km) with an average river difficulty of 1- 3. You may also have the chance of a good rapid swim during the trip too!
"Just a quick note to thank you for the great day rafting last Saturday, the weather was glorious and everyone was absolutely exhausted” -Natalie King
Our Comments:
If you are looking for a fun group activity then rafting is a good choice, however if you are looking for ahigh adrenaline, "white water" experience then we would personally recommend Surf Kayaking or Gorge Scrambling as our best white water experience.
The International scale of White Water Rafting difficulty is rated from: Grade 1- (Easy) to Grade 6- (Unraftable) for full details of the grading system please click here. Most of the rivers in the UK are usually Grade 1-3 runs but can change depending upon water levels. International White Water Rafting destinations such as the river Zambezi, the Alps etc. typically run grades 4-5, in comparison all of the rivers in the UK are relatively tame.
All the river systems in the world are either fed by melting snow, glaciers or rain. In the UK rivers are predominantly rain fed systems,
making rafting conditions unpredictable.
